PortAventura Park is within the PortAventura World resort in Salou and Vila-Seca, on the Costa Daurada in Catalonia, Spain, approximately 100 kilometres southwest of Barcelona. The resort is set along the Mediterranean coast, surrounded by the towns of Salou and Cambrils, with easy access from both the AP-7 motorway and a dedicated train station on site.

How to get to PortAventura via public transportation

The train is the most sustainable and convenient way to reach PortAventura Park, and is officially endorsed by the resort. Take the Rodalies de Catalunya R-17 or RT2 line directly to the PortAventura World stop. If you book a ticket package, your round-trip train travel is free.

  • Timings: First train from Barcelona at 6am; last return train at 10pm

Direct bus services run to PortAventura World from Barcelona, Costa Daurada, and Costa Brava, with combined bus and ticket packages available from most departure points.

  • Closest stop: Hotel PortAventura (5-10min walk)
  • Timings: Buses run from 7:15am to 10:15pm (regular public bus)

If you are arriving by AVE high-speed or long-distance train from Madrid, Valencia, or elsewhere on the peninsula, get off at Camp de Tarragona station. From there, you can reach the resort by bus, taxi, or car hire, all available directly outside the station.

  • Car Parking- General parking is available for cars. There is also a preferential parking zone available, which gets you closer to the park entrance. (5-10 minutes walking distance from the entrance of PortAventura world)
  • Caravan Parking - If you're traveling by motorhome, PortAventura World has a dedicated Caravan Parking area. This area provides essential services like electricity, Wi-Fi, toilets, showers, vending machines, washing machines, and dryers (subject to payment). The maximum stay in the caravan parking area is two nights, and it includes access to all of Hotel Gold River's facilities and services from check-in to check-out
  • If you're staying in Salou (the closest town), PortAventura is about 2.5 kilometers away. This is a walkable distance, though it might take about 30-40 minutes, depending on your pace.
  • If you're staying in Vila-Seca (the closest Municipality), PortAventura is even closer, just about 1.5 kilometers away. This is a more manageable walk of 15-20 minutes.

Driving route

Head south from Barcelona on the A-7 motorway and exit at junction 35, where you will see PortAventura clearly signposted. On-site parking is available right at the resort, with a standard car park and a preferential zone closer to the entrance. Motorhome travellers can use the dedicated caravan area with full facilities on-site.

  • Distance: 123 kilometres
  • Peak traffic hours: weekends from 8am to 11am and weekday evenings from 6pm
  • Routes: Fastest & scenic via C-31, C-32 & AP-7 (this route has tolls)
