The Universe Room is one of the most distinctive zones at the museum that provides an interactive tour that helps discover the cosmos and its evolution right from its Big Bang to the present day.

The Flooded Forest at CosmoCaixa allows you to immerse yourself into an ecosystem consisting of the planet’s living biodiversity. It represents a fragment of the ecosystem of the Amazon rainforest, which has a rich and fragile ecosystem.

Highlights: 

• The Flooded Forest exhibits the ecosystem of the Amazon inside a glasshouse, which is home to crocodiles, piranhas, various other plant and animal species. 
  
• Within the 1000 sq meter of space, you will be discovering some of the most representative species of the Amazon rainforest: ants, boas, fish, tropical birds, plants and so much more. 

The Antarctic Base is an area within the museum where you can discover photographs of its biodiversity and admire the new nature from the National Geographic archive.

• Discover the details first hand about the history of the Juan Carlos I Spanish Antarctic Base by none-other than Dr. Catellvi himself. 

This section of the museum shows the Earth’s geology, where seven large sections of genuine rock were originated by different geological processes and have contributed to shaping the planet.

In this area of CosmoCaixa, you will find a space desiccated to mathematics entirely. You will discover the mathematical interior and try resolving the challenges of daily life and nature with a mathematical eye.

The building aims to be an educational building project that displays the current and future environmental improvements. The building is into raising awareness and educating the public in the culture of sustainability.

Explore the museum through the hands of young people who take part in the Explainers CosmoCaixa program during the weekends. The explainers will help you understand all the scientific content of the four spaces of the museum: the entrance, the vertical garden, Archimedes Garden as well as the photovoltaic sunflowers.

• The program trains young people in the 4th year of ESO and high school to explain the different scientific and museum content to visitors.

The Sun. Living With Our Star: The exhibition is an interactive one where you get an opportunity to discover the secrets of the star and dive into the fascinating history of the human being’s relationship with the sun. Witness more than 100 historical and contemporary pieces associated with the sun.

The activity offers children from 7 years of age a chance to think with their hands while designing and experimenting across four different thematic areas.

This workshop allows you to discover the process behind making slimes with everyday materials. You will be exposed to a little bit of chemistry to be able to discover the curious properties and you can play as much as you wish to with the fascinating fluids.
