Santa Maria Del Pi also known as St Mary's Basilica is a Gothic Style church built in the 14th Century in Catalonia, Spain. The church, dedicated to Virgin Mary, is as old as the 5th century but has gone through several destructions & reconstructions, and was finally open to the public in the 15th Century.

• The Gothic-style cathedral witnessed many calamities including an earthquake in the year 1428, bombings of the Spanish War in 1717, and a fire in 1936.
• The Blessed lady of the Pine aka the Virgin Mary has a 14th-century Gothic image that exists to date despite all the destruction & survival struggles. 
• There are four giant gegants or wearable puppets installed inside the church that are a highlight of parades and Catholic feast days in Barcelona.
• It is said that a pine forest used to be on this site of Barcelona's Gothic Quarter, and indeed a pine tree still stands in front of the church.
